1. Service Description

IPDebrief provides IP address intelligence reports compiled from publicly available network metadata. The service includes a web interface, SEO dossier pages, and a REST API.

2. Acceptable Use

You may use IPDebrief for legitimate purposes including:

Network security analysis and incident response
Fraud prevention and risk assessment
Infrastructure planning and compliance
Academic and security research

You may not use this service to:

Harass, stalk, or target individuals based on IP address data
Circumvent rate limits or abuse the API
Scrape the service for bulk data redistribution without a commercial license
Misrepresent IP intelligence data as definitive identification of individuals

3. Data Accuracy Disclaimer

All information is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. IP intelligence data is probabilistic and reflects point-in-time observations from public sources. Risk assessments may be inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete.

IP addresses do not reliably identify individuals. Network metadata describes infrastructure, not people. Do not use this data as the sole basis for access control, legal, or enforcement decisions.

4. Rate Limits & API Access

Free tier: 5 requests per IP per minute
Pro tier: 1,000 requests per minute (requires subscription)
Enterprise: Custom limits (contact sales)

Exceeding rate limits may result in temporary or permanent access restrictions.

5. Intellectual Property

The IPDebrief platform, scoring algorithms, and aggregation methods are proprietary. Raw network metadata sourced from public registries remains subject to the original source licenses.

6. AI-Generated Content

Certain sections of IP intelligence reports, including narrative summaries, are generated using artificial intelligence (AI) language models. AI-generated content is derived from the same signal data displayed elsewhere in the report.

AI-generated summaries may contain inaccuracies, misinterpretations, or omissions. They are provided for convenience and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for security, legal, or operational decisions. Always verify critical details against the underlying signal data or independent sources.

AI-generated content is clearly labeled with a "Witness AI" badge. The absence of a threat mention in an AI summary does not guarantee the IP is safe.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, IPDebrief and its operator shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use this service, including but not limited to decisions made based on the data provided.

8. Service Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances beyond our control.

9. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the state where the service operator resides.
